Tomorrow I’m off but I’ve got a class on the evening. Brain is totally switched off. Less than three months til the due of the double credit module. And about four months til another one is due. Yep, gotta do both concurrently.

Was told that there are casualties to the previous assignment. I really really hope it’s not me!!! The thought of re-writing the assignment is… Oh I don’t even want to imagine! All the best to me and the other students!!

Finally…. Just removed clothes from dryer. All nice n crispy as if the sun is high up in the sky. Morning is ironing day. And then shopping n lunch with Husna, before going for tutorial.

So now, time to visit lala land. Nites!

This week is malay and indian food week. I had the usual lontong and ketupat from monday to wed. Had indian food on thursday and friday. Not forgetting teh tarik. Been craving for it during the fasting month.

The excitement for Hari Raya has totally faded away. Maybe next time when I have kids then I will be excited for them, if not as excited as them. And I think my relatives have gotten enough lame answers to questions like “when are you getting married?”. I have yet to think of more “creative” answers.

This year I feel that I have been too busy with godknowswhat. And the year will end right before my eyes. And the same question will cross my mind time and again- what have i done with my life? If I want to help people, at what expense? If I remain angry at people, what do I gain? Then I realised, I was never angry at people, just plain disappointed.

But this year, I have learnt a valuable lesson in life – you cannot expect people to be fair to you. You cannot expect your friends to treat you equally. You cannot expect your parents to love you as much as they love your siblings. Now I remember the time I was in primary five or six, when it was the in thing to write in your friends’ diaries. We categorise friends into these groups: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Enemy. Those who didnt get a chance to do this have deprived childhood (if you grew up around my era)!!!

I’ve got lessons at SGH tomorrow til 9pm! And that means…. launch of the final module (yay!) and I need to prepare materials for one of the modules.

Oh, I had fruits, teh tarik and prata egg cheese for dinner. Still hungry. Now craving for hot almond milk with honey. No almonds at home, only cashews… No honey at home, only honey cornflakes. Oh I want yogurt too… with gummy bears….

The educational policy has benefitted me. Because of meritocracy, I feel that I got pushed to study hard in order to get where I wanted to be (although my dad wanted me to get into RV, but I’m not Chinese, haha).

That aside, I’m wondering why meritocracy was not really applied thereafter. I dont know why racial quota was set for employment. I experienced this for one of those temporary jobs after A level.

And I just dont understand why, when young Singaporeans are encouraged to get married and have children, it is so expensive to own a HDB flat. My eyes often almost pop out of its sockets after seeing the price on the website. Looks like only those earning $7999.99 can afford a 5 room HDB (cos $8000 is the income ceiling).

I hope to see a better government, with problems with existing policies being tackled. I hope Singapore will not become like George Orwell’s Animal Farm.

Hallu people! This post is a result of me not being able to sleep post-night duty. It will be full of crap. Anyway, above is a snapshot taken from the place the princesses had our photoshoot last Saturday. Standing there, not quite sure what’s the exact time the train is going to pass by was quite scary. Especially when I saw someone in a car passing under the bridge waving frantically at us and endlessly pointing to his wristwatch. Maybe he often see trains pass by at that time. But I chose to trust the guard at the train station. Dangerous, but provides a perfect backdrop for the shoot. We risked our lives to capture moments in celebration of eight years of friendship. You guys have been my best friends through thick and thin. You guys saw me laugh, cry… And on that day, maybe was the first time you guys saw me panic buruk tahap maksima. But thank you. For being there when no one else bothered.

I will go through the trials, whatever it maybe. And sometimes, tough decisions have to be made, for one’s own good. We have to bear the consequences of our own actions. But, really, do things always result because of your own action? Talk about karma…. “what goes around comes around”… Really? In a food cycle, the food producers are always at the losing end. The only good thing it receives is shit as fertilizers from the animals. (OK analogy is a bit difficult to figure out hehe).

If I cannot go through trials when I’m 25, I might end up so stressed up and probably die of cancer even before my 50th birthday… And I WANT to be there for my children (in future) at least until they get married. Cos I believe, when you lose a father, you will gain a “father” in you mother.

April will be a fresh start for me. No, I’m not leaving my job or anything. It’s just a target date for a new change. Just thought that I need some catching up to do with myself. Hope after I turn 25, my life will never be the same again. For the better, I hope, Insya Allah!

May will be the start of my new semester. All the best to me juggling work, “own room, own self” chores, and studies. People consider me lucky cos I only have my own bills to pay, I’m paid a decent amount each month, and I have only my own mouth to feed. But, I dont mind being in the opposite situation. Cos money only buys temporary happiness.

Whatever it is, appreciate those who care about you, cos when you blink, they might have slipped away.

Gotta put aside money for my second year fees. Still waiting for my second sem results… Now about three weeks late and I dont even remember the topic anymore! Grr… And I’m no longer excited to even see my results.

Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year to all. I went to Marina Square and Central and the shopping centres were like ghost towns! All the stores were closed, and there were no good movies to watch either. Looking on the bright side, I didnt shop. Hahaha… Yay! (but online shops are available 24/7 and I kept browsing online catalogs)

This morning, on my way to work, my neighbourhood was so quiet, feels like a Sunday, minus all the aunties who go to the wet market! And I can literally occupy the entire row of seats on the train! What luxury on a weekday morning!! *grins* The only minus point was that there were very few cabs. Hence I was unable to take a cab to work.

Anyway, I’m so excited cos this year I will have a record number of “short getaways”. Superrr excited!

At least I have the capacity to realise my own mistakes, and I work towards improving myself.

If my could roll my eyes vertically I would, if I had an aneurysm, it would have ruptured. If I had a pole, I’d shove it up their ass. Men and their BS. Physical proximity isnt the only factor that affects attraction. You’re not very likely to fall in love with your neighbour, so dont bullshit.

When a caterpillar evolves into a beautiful butterfly, it will flutter away. And you’ll be stuck with the second best.

Just my two cents worth.

Anyway, happy new year. My new year wish for friends and family? I hope that all my bestest of friends will be happy, and achieve whatever they wanna achieve in life and in their career. May the ones attached get married soon, and the single ones find their love. For the married ones, may it last til your last breath, may you be granted with kids, insyaAllah. My personal wish? It’s a secret. Hahaha…

Every morning there will be this short “drama” on the radio… I dont know about other channels, but I listen to 94.2 FM every morning…. Anyway, I think it might be working. I was at a store today, and a few guys were buying those….

But to think of it again, is it so difficult to remain filial? Or practice abstinence?

God knows…
